Overview

For Vacation Terminal, I crafted a Brazilian Portuguese localization focused on preserving the game’s tension while enhancing its most emotional and unsettling moments.

I translated a little over 8,000 words of dialogue, UI, and system text, paying special attention to atmosphere — especially in the horror and psychological scenes. My goal was to keep every moment sharp, detailed, and immersive, giving players that extra sense of unease the story demands.

During the process, I adapted the text into genuinely Brazilian expressions, using natural phrasing and local nuances that make the dialogues feel alive, familiar, and culturally grounded — the kind of lines only a PT-BR player instantly understands.

I also localized menus and interface elements, ensuring clarity and fluidity throughout the player experience.

For LQA (Localization Quality Assurance), I replayed the game multiple times to review flow, tone, readability, choices, and endings, making sure the entire experience felt smooth and emotionally consistent from start to finish. Result: a PT-BR version that’s tense, immersive, and culturally authentic — allowing more players to connect with the story in a way that feels natural and welcoming.
